
The ANCC previously granted the Medical Center Magnet recognition in 2002, 2006, 20. The Medical Center is the only hospital in Illinois providing care to both adults and children to have achieved Magnet status five times and was the first hospital for adults and children in the state to achieve Magnet status. The Rush Neuroscience ICU is a closed-unit model with a dedicated team of residents, fellows, advance practice providers, pharmacist, nutritionist and the Neurointensivist who is the primary attending physician. The breadth of patient care is diverse, with over 100 subarachnoid hemorrhages and 200 intracerebral hemorrhages a year. and is adjacent to a 128-slice dual energy CT scanner. The Neurosciences Critical Care Unit at Rush is a new state-of-the-art 28 bed unit housed in the acute and critical care tower of the Rush hospital. Candidate should be eligible for faculty appointment in Rush Medical College at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position is a full-time faculty position. This program will accrue candidates until a collaborative team of seven fellowship trained Neurointensivists is assembled.
